Delegación California
Asociación Nacional de Maestros de Danza Popular Mexicana
Delegación California was established in 2011 when Rosa Amelia Gonzalez Madrigal was sworn in as the Delegate for the state of California within Asociación Nacional de Maestros de Danza Popular Mexicana or ANMDPM. Its purpose is to allow dancers and group directors from all over California to participate in the conferences the association offers twice per year. Delegación California will remain a part of the Association as long as there is a delegate to represent the group.
Delegación California is currently functioning as an unincorporated non-profit organization in order to organize a conference which members of Asociación Nacional de Maestros de Danza Popular Mexicana will be able to attend as well as other local dancers. The conference will be titled “Congreso California”. In order to carry out its purpose of organizing the Congreso California conference, Officers of the Delegación California ("Officers") have been convened as the governing body of the Delegación California. See the list of officers below.
Tonatiuh Danzantes del Quinto Sol is a dance group established in 1992 based out of Salinas, California that was granted non-profit status in 2014. Tonatiuh has agreed to act as Fiscal Sponsor on behalf of Delegación California for the sole purpose of developing, organizing, and operating the Congreso California conference.
You may contact us at any time if you require more information. You may also find us on Facebook as “ANMDPM AC Delegacion California”. We will offer several workshops during these next few years as fundraisers for the official Congreso California conference.
